Amesbury’s oldest building is crumbling. The lead roof is no longer watertight. The five hundred-year-old roof beams need replacing. The walls need re-sealing against the damp. Keeping the building open and safe for the public to visit costs £1 per minute.
Even Grade 1 listed church buildings such as this receive no money from the Church of England or government funding. All costs are met by the people of the parish.
But with rising costs, this historic building is likely to be closed for good within a year.
We are asking YOU to help raise a minimum of £250,000 to replace the roof and ensure the future of this historic town landmark.
Fixing the roof is stage 1 of our "Fit For The Future" Campaign. You Can find out more by clicking HERE
