The Parochial Church Council is a committee formed of the clergy of the parish, churchwardens, treasurer, deanery synod representatives and volunteers from the congregation.

The committee meets ten times a year and makes decisions regarding the upkeep of the church and grounds, as well as mission activities and financial considerations.

The PCC is chaired by the Priest in Charge of our church: Father Darren A'Court.

The Friends of the Abbey Church of St Mary and St Melor was formed in the 1980s to help raise funds to pay for repairs to the fabric of the church and any equipment that might be needed. We are a group of like-minded individuals who work hard fundraising and along the way we have fun and lots of laughs. New members are always welcome, so why not join us? Membership forms are available in church, or you can make contact via the parish office.
During the year we hold spring and autumn jumble sales. The May Fayre has become well established with its many stalls, games, duck race, and teas, etc. There is the popular Scarecrow Trial in September and a Christmas Draw. Events can vary and in
the past we have produced various concerts.
Over the past few
years we have contributed thousands of pounds to the church. The following are a few examples: repairing the louvres on the bell tower, purchasing moveable staging to use in the church, refurbishment of the choir stalls, music stands for choir use when giving concerts, a church notice board, a donation towards improving the path for disabled access, refurbishment of the children's corner in church, and finally £20,000 to help with the current roof repairs.
